It makes my heart ache to know you must go.
Will I ever hear from you again? I don't know.
You said the danger you face now can't be underestimated
And impatient with worry, I have sat here and waited.
The days without you seem dismal and long
So I've turned these emotions into a song.
The hope here's transcendent, it fills me with peace
Bolsters my soul, and sets me at ease.
Enough so that I can give thanks and say
Prayers to the Creator, to bless you this day.
Insh'Allah -- God willing, I hope so much to see
Your smiling, triumphant return to me.
