5. About A Girl

Not to be confused with the Nirvana song of the same name. I just couldn't think of a better title.

This is the first jazz-rock song I'm submitting to the site, and it's one of my favorites that I've done so far. The instrumentation is quite simple and it's not a very experimental song, especially when compared to some of the other stuff I've been working on. But I really like how this one turned out.

The real meat of this song is in the instrumental, which begins at about 1:45 and lasts through the rest of the song. This was something that just seemed to come together the right way as I went along, and I didn't have to make too many edits to it. Plus, I love the way it gradually takes the song in a somewhat darker direction as it reaches its conclusion.
