**History of the Song: This song is a bit of a tribute to all the old horror/thriller movies and tv shows from the 70s/80s. The ironic thing is, I really don't like watching that genre even to this day! But for some stupid reason, I watched many of them at least once when I was younger. There was an old show my eldest sister use to watch called "Tales from the Darkside" which was the main inspiration for the eeriness throughout the song. The opening theme to that show had a bell-like instrument with really 'ominous' background music which, to me, was very chilling to hear and was the main reason why the dissonant bell sounds are a highlight in this song (as well as in its sequel, 'Malevolent'). Looking back, this song is a bit longer than I should have made it (which was a driving incentive to create its sequel and make up for it), but I did like the mood I created. I was at least lucky enough to find the three main constant instruments that sort of drove the song forward. I also remember that the opening theme also showed a leafless birchwood forest, its dim white and black emptiness being a constant image in my head as I created this song. Fear, and the thrill that comes with it, is all about the unknown, and that's what I tried to depict in 'Ominous.'**
