Part III: A Bittersweet End
When an end to war reveals itself to be just another beginning...
Part I: A Future Unknown
Part II: An Uncertain Hope
Part IV: Epilogue (In Memoriam)
**History of the Song: As stated above, the idea for this song as a conclusion to the series was about the cyclic nature of war, how a moment of peace is fleeting because war and disagreements almost seem inevitable, unfortunately. The song represents a homecoming from battle, the drums being prominent in the beginning, like a celebratory drum march (which is the image I constantly had in mind as I made this one). For most of the song, I tried to maintain that celebratory, victorious feel like an 'end' to a story. But just as the song reaches a climax, the moment of peace and content is bittersweet as it gives way to distant sounds of battle once more, bringing it back to the beginnings of war all over again. As for the arrangement of the song, I wanted to sort of wrap up the series, incorporating all the instruments from the first two songs, sneaking in familiar instruments and combinations during the build up before returning the tone/mood back to 'A Future Unknown.' I liked this song for how it sounded less "gloom and doom" from its predecessors, but still felt connected to them. But like many of my songs early on, I was still getting my style down and learning how to layer and condense sounds, so I think it was a bit repetitive and longer than it should have been.**
Thanks. Kinda inspired me from listening to your Lelouch and Shirley song. Which is very awesome.
