I took an art class this past semester, and outside the building was a piece a student did. It was on all black. I don't recall the design, but the words "I USED TO BE ART" was at the top. I saw that twice a week for a few months, and that saying really stuck to me. What does it mean to be art, and what does it mean to have been art? I still haven't figured that out, but I love the idea of it. So much so that I named this album after it.
